Made of sea green obsidian. Discovered by Les Ira Kreis in the early 1950s in a wheat field on Badger Mountain, near the community of Badger Creek Springs, Douglas Co., Washington. Dr. Michael Gramly brought the Rutz Clovis to first light in 1990 when a descendant of the finder brought the Clovis to Dr. Gramly's excavation of the Richie Clovis Cache in East Wenatchee, Washington . A photo of the Rutz Clovis was included in Gramly's monograph of the Richie Clovis site.
