Stunning silver-plated butter dish with cow finial, late 19th Century. Reticulated domed lid surmounted by resting cow finial sits atop a pierced butter dish over a blue opaline milk glass insert/ice reservoir. There are four paw feet, two bull heads with rings for handles, and two plain shields decorating the reticulated body of the butter dish. The piece is unmarked, but most likely French or English in origin. It is 100% correct and complete, in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks or damage to it's original blue opaline milk glass insert. 6.5"H x 6.5"W.
