Mid nineteenth century. Wooden movement, bell chime; the hood with scrolled pediment and finials. The arched tombstone door flanked by swelled colonettes, above rectangular case with rectangular panel door, set on square base with simple cut-out bracket feet. The case all-over grain-painted surface. The painted wood dial with Roman numeral chapter ring, seconds dial, surmounted with scenic decoration, with polychrome- and gilt-painted spandrels, lettered "S. HOADLEY, PLYMOUTH". Retains pendulum and weights. Original surface, now alligatored. Wood works appear intact. Good overall. Dimensions: 91" tall x 13" throat width x 10" deep.
