Spanish American War Era US 45 Star Flag. The 45 star flag became the official United States flag on July 4, 1896 and was in use for 12 years until July 4, 1908. The flag is made of wool bunting and measures approximately 140" x 96". The hoist is faintly stamped "8 x 12". There are two metal grommets on each end of the hoist. CONDITION: The flag exhibits several moth holes and small rips. Some of the stitching has come loose in some areas especially around the edges of the canton. The colors remain vibrant and the flag displays well. Overall very good. JLD
