Factory records indicated that this carbine was shipped on April 18, 1885. It offers no other information. Standard features include a 22" round barrel, carbine buttstock, saddle ring, and walnut stocks. It is chambered for the .45-75 cartridge. All metal finishes are basically in the white. Wood stocks are excellent, slightly shy to metal, with a crack at the rear stock (4" closed on left side). Strong bore with minor frosting. Very clean shotgun with no pitting on the metal. Very strong factory stamps. The closed crack could easily be smoothed out. With a little bit of work this could be a fine example of a scarce carbine, popular usage by the Northwest Mounted Police.
