Octagon barrel. Right side of frame marked "Adams Patent No. 30382B", left side of frame marked "Adams/1851/Patent". Top strap marked "ALEX B THOMSON 16 UNION PLACE EDINBURGH". Rear of cylinder numbered 8027. Frame stamped "I. Brazier" in very small letters near trigger guard. Front strap numbered 802, with first half of 8 obscured. Checkered one piece wood grips. Standard British proofs on barrel and chambers. Grip screws with a floral motif. Butt with trap. CONDITION: Good. Cylinder and trigger guard have been reblued. Balance is a pleasing mix of gunmetal and brown patination. Front of frame shows marks from an ambitious cleaning. Operates properly, bore has visible rifling with areas of roughness and pitting. One barrel flat has line from cylinder pin. Legends are legible, but somewhat soft. Grips are good, revarnished, with softened checkering. A nice Scottish retailed Adams.
