Made in a small quantity, 1861-1862. A fair amount of these were purchased by the U.S. Government. Company address and patent dates are located on the left side of the octagonal portion of the barrel. Matching serials on both the inside of the grip strap and on the inside of the walnut grips. 2 part barrel, being half round, half octagon. Reapplied blued finishes, with a case colored hammer and trigger guard. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish, with most areas forming a grayish patina. Grips have minor handling marks. Bore is frosted with heavy pitting. Nipples are still well formed. Mechanically inoperable, with the hammer and cylinder being seized when cocked. Would need work to be mechanically functional. PROVENANCE: Roger Bender Collection. JWA
