The brass barrel with Spanish form, octagonal to round. Plain but serviceable brass mounts comprising butt plate, trigger guard, and ramrod pipe. Bolster type conversion to percussion. The lock has sparse engraving en suite with hammer. Unusually large bell muzzle. CONDITION: Fine throughout. Stock in fine condition with some original varnish finish. Forward of lock stock has been pieced with an inset of the period, filling what must have been a knot hole. Action is crisp. Bore is fine. Brass tipped ramrod with jag is possibly the original. A showy and most attractive blunderbuss. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
