This gun was found in Texas about 35 years ago and supposedly came from Maryland. This crudely made gun has round barrel and percussion cap threaded into a gash towards the breech. Deep even age patina and rudimentary front sight. Back action lock resembles an overgrown French 1822 T-Bis conversion. Iron trigger guard and iron trigger are crudely fashioned. Barrel fastened with two crude bands and a front band with an over sized sling swivel. Stock, crudely fashioned, with no buttplate. CONDITION: Overall fair. Action functions but hammer does not strike nipple properly. Bore is fair. Massive gun weighs approximately 35 pounds. The sort of gun Norman Flayderman would have referred to as a "show-stopper." From the Robert Sadler Collection.
