This scarce Herzegovinian gun is in essentially untouched condition throughout, stock is entirely inlaid with pearl plaques, barrel is inlaid with what appears to be gold wire at muzzle and breech. The mounts are heavily darkened, probably silver. Lock is heavily rusted and the frizzen is seized. Butt is encased in darkened silver with some coral enhancements to the pearl. CONDITION: Barrel is heavily patinated. Pearl inlaid stock with losses throughout. Silver mounts are heavily patinated. This was a magnificent example, but will require extensive restoration to bring it back to its original splendor. Deeply rifled bore appears to be good.
