Full curly maple stocked half round half octagon smoothbore rifle built in the Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania style. Brass furniture including brass two piece patchbox and brass saddleplate. London marked flint lock with single trigger control. Hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Patchbox most likely later addition with wood in forestock having several small repairs towards the nosecap. Barrel has bulge 4" from muzzle. Brass buttplate possible later addition. Mechanically sound with overall aged patina on gun. Lock is a period lock but most likely a replacement when gun was reconverted. DLM
