Interesting piece of firearm repurposing probably done in the 1800ss by an unknown blacksmith or gunsmith. Gun is a compilation of parts assembled together to form a breech loading pinfire shotgun. 34" half round half octagon .62 caliber smoothbore barrel fitted with rifle sights and a hinge. Repurposed British Brown Bess "TOWER" marked originally flint lock converted with a pinfire hammer and having a blacksmith made safety catch and single trigger. Gun has blacksmith made latch that opens gun when swung to the right. Walnut plain 2 piece stock with musket style sling swivels and a homespun buttplate. CONDITION: Overall poor with dark corroded patina on metal and remnants of a dark piano type finish on wood. Pitted bore with crude mechanics. DLM
