For a nearly identical example, see "British Military Pistols and Associated Edged Weapons" by Brooker, pg. 100. Standard 9" round barrel of carbine bore, with offset "(Crown) / CP" and "(Crown) / V" proofs. Vacant ramrod channel with a single flared trumpet thimble and unreinforced mouth. Later flat lock with stamped "(Crown) / GR" for Georgius Rex and simple lined engraving. Cock with very light floral nocks on neck. Double lock bolts connected by a brass sideplate. Plain brass furniture comprising trigger guard and buttcap. CONDITION: Overall good. Barrel with an even layer of oxidation interspersed with dove grey. Lock in similar but somewhat cleaner condition, belaying its slightly later date. Stock is good with scattered handling marks, normal chipping around barrel pins, with another chip on right side above ferrule and wrist. 1 tight crack behind lock. Mechanically fine, bore is good with a minimum of oxidation. A nice example. EMW
