Sharps Model 1863 breechloading carbine with 22" round barrel in .52 caliber rifled, fitted with folding ladder carbine rear sight graduated to 800 yards and blade front sight. 2-piece walnut stock and forearm with single barrel band, bar with 2 saddle rings, and military buttplate. "E.A.W." cartouche on left of barrel and 2 faint cartouches near saddle ring bar. CONDITION: Very good, with iron assemblies cleaned to a bright gray patina with consistent light freckling throughout. Stock and forearm are very good as lightly cleaned with moderate handling marks and gouge on left wrist near trigger. Mechanically fine. Bore is lightly frosted with freckling throughout and crisp rifling.
