Lot consists of: (A) Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer Pocket Model percussion revolver. .31 caliber, 5-shot with steel frame and smooth walnut grips. Serial number 252 on frame under grips and grip numbered to match. Patent dates on left side of octagon barrel. Cased in a folksy hand made case with percussion caps and period mold with sprue cutter. CONDITION: Gun is void of original finish from period use. Action operates properly. Bore is dark with visible rifling, Case and accessories are equal in condition. (B) Manufactured 1854, Colt Model 1849 Pocket Model with 5" octagon barrel. 2-line New York barrel address. Matching numbers with exception of wedge. 1-piece varnished walnut grips. Blue finish with case colored frame and silver washed brass backstrap and trigger guard. CONDITION: Good as found with the overall finish having turned an even chocolate patina. Grips are very good with much original varnish. Silver has worn but 30% remains in more protected areas. The action operates properly however the safety position does not hold on the hammer. Bore is dark with strong rifling and cylinder scene is very visible and crisp. (C) Manhattan Pocket Navy revolver with 5" octagon barrel. Caliber .36 percussion with 5-shot cylinder, serial number 25031. Very popular with Northern soldiers during the War of Southern Independence. The Manhattan Firearms Company produced a great many guns that were utilized during the conflict and are frequently observed in original pictures of the era. CONDITION: Good as found with the gun being an honest slightly worn gunmetal grey with mottled patina in areas. The action operates properly with exception of fails to hold on safety position. Missing one screw above wedge. Bore is good with strong rifling. TDW
