Manufactured in 1863. New York engraved with a scroll-and-foliate pattern with a punch dot background. There is a serpent engraved on both sides of the hammer. The gun has a silver-plated finish. Single line address on top of the barrel "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S.A. AMERICA-". On the left side of the frame is "COLTS / PATENT". On the cylinder is "COLTS PATENT NO.2630 / ENGRAVED BY W.L. ORMSBY NEW YORK" Matching serial numbers on the following parts: barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard, wedge, cylinder arbor, cylinder, and backstrap. The cylinder scene is phenomenal. Gun is cut for a shoulder stock and has a 1-piece checkered ivory grip. Gun comes in a deluxe case with all accessories including powder flask, bullet mold, caps, and a box of cartridges. CONDITION: Gun retains the vast majority of the silver plate finish with some finish loss to the barrel assembly, frame and trigger guard. Fair bore with some frosting and light pitting in the lands and grooves. 1-piece ivory grip shows age patina and a couple of small chips on the bottom left side. The engraving is well executed. The deluxe case is near mint with black felt interior and has the original key. The bullet mold is a Colt's patent 44H mold, Colt's Patent powder flask. A very nice addition to any collection.
