Side by side Colt Model 1883 hammerless boxlock shotgun made by Colt Firearms, Hartford, Connecticut in the late 1800s. These guns were made on a custom basis with this gun featuring many extras. Gun has Damascus steel barrels with matted rib and bead front sight. Case hardened frame engraved with fine scroll and pointing dogs. Gun has extractors, double triggers, and automatic safety. Figured checkered walnut pistol grip stock with checkered side panels, Colt logo hard rubber buttplate, and horn grip cap. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with ebony inlay and latch release. CONDITION: 20% remaining Damascus scene with balance turning a silvery patina. Action has worn to a silvery patina with sharp engraving. Wood has traces of original varnish with checkering worn slightly flat. Nice honest high grade Colt. Good bores and mechanics. DLM
