Serial number 145768 manufactured in 1863. Matching serial numbers on all major components including wedge. One line Colt New York address on barrel. "COLTS PATENT" marked on left side of frame and cylinder. Roll-die, W.L. Ormsby's naval battle scene on cylinder. Blue barrel. Case hardened frame, loading lever, and hammer. Silver plated brass trigger guard and backstrap. One piece varnished walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good overall with smooth clean metal showing only traces of original finishes in protected areas. Turning a pleasing grey/brown patina overall. Grips are fine with approximately 80% original varnish showing moderate wear. Original unmolested screws. Brass turning a light mustard patina. Overall a very clean and honest Colt Model 1851 Navy. -MKS-
