This is a military inspected 1860 Army with no "US" stamped on frame. You will find the inspector stamp "C" on left side of frame, left side of barrel and on the brass grip strap. CONDITION: The one piece walnut grips have been refinished and the cartouche is no longer visible. The barrel displays sharp legends and retains about 90% of reapplied blue finish done long ago and in Colt style as patina is coming through, may be arsenal done. Loading lever is gun metal grey having been cleaned. Cylinder shows nearly all the Naval battle scene and retains approximately 80% original factory blue but has been renumbered to match gun. Back strap is steel and cut for shoulder stock and retains no original blue finish. Frame colors have faded to gray and legends are sharp. Matching serial numbers on frame, barrel, trigger guard and back strap. Wedge not numbered. Bore exhibits sharp rifling but the grooves are peppery. Action is off time but indexes and locks up tight and straight.
