This is most likely an American alteration for American military use. The iron barrel with British Birmingham proofs and large flared muzzle. Moldings at breech. Deep even age brown patina throughout. The lock with brown patina and American eagle and shield stamped. No other other markings. Iron mounts with deep even age patina. Trigger guard with pineapple finial. Single lock screw. CONDITION: Figured, checkered walnut full stock shows little wear and much possibly original varnish finish. Checkering quite crisp. Action is excellent. Bore is fine. Horn tipped ramrod with jag is possibly the original. An interesting iron-barreled blunderbuss. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
