Made from 1883 to 1895, this gun is one of approximately 7,300 made. This Model 1883 Hammerless features fluid steel barrels with concave matted rib with single brass bead sight. Rib is stamped " Colt's PT F A MFG Co HARTFORD CT U S A". Case hardened line engraved boxlock action with double triggers and auto safety. Walnut pistol grip checkered buttstock with German silver stock shield and Pachmayr vented recoil pad. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with ebony inlay and latch release. CONDITION: Barrels retain 80% of an old refinish with excellent bores. Action has worn to a silvery patina with sharp engraving. Action screws have been turned and are original. Trigger guard has 80% reapplied blue and forearm latch is worn to a silvery patina. Stocks are worn from usage with visible checkering and added recoil pad. Stock most likely cut just enough to add the pad. Mechanically sound and functions fine.
