Interesting gun retailed by Edward Catley of New York and likely made by Westley Richards of London. This interesting muzzleloader has an English grip that is checkered in a two point pattern through the wrist and terminates with a lightly engraved full steel buttplate. On top of the wrist in an intriguing gold plaque engraved "Geo. Fox". Ramrod is a replacement. Rib marked "Edwd. Catley - New York - Made With Westley Richards New Bond St. London". CONDITION: Very good as partially restored. Locks retain a mostly grey finish having been blued at one time. The barrels retain about 1/3 of their brown finish. Stock has been sanded and checkering is mostly visible but well worn. Mechanics are fine. Bores are very good with some minor spots. JSL4
