Features half octagon No. 1 weight barrel, nicely figured oil finished deluxe wood, and hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Typical Winchester No. 8 style engraving with delicate scroll and panels with a buck deer on one side and a hunting dog on the other. Scroll engraving on the hammer, tang, and lever. Engraving has been verified by Winchester Museum documentation. CONDITION: Receiver shows very slight traces of original case colors, overall a pleasing grey patina. Barrel more than likely is a Winchester factory replacement showing 95%+ original blue. Excellent bore. Very attractive, early rifle made in 1887.
