First Model 1894 Winchester lever action rifle manufactured in 1894, serial number 2954. Chambered in desirable .38-55 cartridge. 26" octagon barrel with full length magazine tube. Standard sights. Plain trigger. Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Rifle style crescent buttplate. Blue with case hardened lever, hammer, and buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent with approximately 40% original blue on frame. Barrel and magazine tube are mainly an attractive blue/brown patina overall. Traces of original case color on lever and hammer. Wood is excellent, has been lightly sanded with finish added. Bore is bright. Action is tight and crisp. Overall a most desirable first year gun in very popular caliber. -MKS-
