Round barrel with half magazine and a German silver insert front sight and an acorn rear sight with serrated sides. Forearm cap is blued, receiver is blued as is the dust cover. Loading gate is bright nitre blued with a case colored hammer, trigger and lever. Stock is of an American straight grain walnut with a case colored buttplate without a trap door. Caliber marking on bottom of carrier lifter "32 CAL". A high condition 1873 that would be difficult to improve upon. Third Model variation with integral dust cover rail. Barrel retains 95% original blue. Blued receiver has 97% blue with very light scratches on side plate. Right side is 98% blue with only a few light marks that did not penetrate the blue. Case colored hammer retains 96-98% case colors turning dark. Lever is 96% case colors, quite evident on sides and starting to silver out on the bottom of the lever. Straight grain stock has few surface scratches, impressions and retains 98% of its original finish with no chips or cracks on upper or lower tang. Right side with a few more surface scratches and impression but still retains 97-98% finish. Forearm has light surface scratches, overall 96% finish with no splinters or chips of wood missing, and no cracks. Bore is excellent with sharp rifling. An outstanding example that would certainly be hard to improve upon. Serial No. 249923 shipped September 16th, 1887 as a round .32 caliber rifle with half magazine. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
