Manufactured 1860. This fine No. 3 revolver retains nearly all of its original bright inky blue finish on frame and cylinder. Hammer has strong original case colors on back and left side with some fading on right side. Case colors on lever are faded. Grips retain nearly all original varnish with only a few light marks. Two frame screws show screwdriver mars. Action is excellent. Housed in a fine original case with bright red, somewhat faded, lining and original partitions. Colt patent flask has much original lacquer but is dented on backside. Colts patent brass and iron mold is very crisp. Also includes a blued cleaning rod and Hick's caps. Exterior of case has much original varnish and front shows two burn marks. A very nice Model 3 Root. CORRECTION: barrel length is 3-1/2"
