19th century Kentucky rifle with barrel signed in script "H. Albright". Brass furniture with "Horsehead" finial patchbox and engraved saddleplate. Percussion lock with single trigger control. Full curly maple stock with thumbpiece wrist inlay. Smoothbore octagonal barrel with rifle sights. Rifle by an early influential maker who moved around a lot. CONDITION: Aged patina finish on metal surfaces with some pitting around percussion drum and some finish added to barrel. Period conversion of original flint lock with original plate being used. Mechanically sound and functions with weak hammer spring. Wood has nice aged finish and possibly has forestock replaced along with nosecap. Replacement ramrod.
