This lovely rifle features a full octagon barrel, full magazine, German knife blade front sight, sporting rear sight, blue finish, checkered two piece walnut forend, walnut buttstock with rifle buttplate, stock has period saddle ring installed. Numerous British crown proofs on barrel and one on frame. CONDITION: Barrel and frame retain approximately 80% original factory finish with razor sharp edges and legends, with the balance blending and thinning with brown patina. Right side of barrel has approximately a 1-1/2" patch of salt and pepper finish. Frame retains approximately 75% original Colt factory high polish blue finish with razor sharp pony. Balance greying out. Stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with normal bumps and bruises. Fine action. Sharp, strong rifled bore. A far above average medium frame Lightning that was shipped to England.
