A product of a partnership between George W. Tryon and Samuel Merrick, working at 70 High Street (now Market Street) in Philadelphia. Octagonal barrel with nickel-silver foresight signed in gold. Sunken cartouche at breech stamped LONDON. Back action lock. Walnut three-quarter stock. Steel trigger guard with spur. Checkered bag butt. German silver wedge escutcheons and butt cap. Platinum blow-out plug. CONDITION: Smooth brown patina on steel parts. Checkering slightly worn. Stock with minor marks. Action is excellent. Bore is fair. Highly unusual to find American pistols of this period signed in gold, most of which remains on present pistol. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
