Lot consists of: (A) Remington Beals Navy revolver. .36 caliber with 7-1/2" octagon barrel with Beal's Patent and Remington address on top. Serial number 4502 on bottom of barrel. 2-piece walnut grips. CONDITION: Good as found. Revolver is void of finish and appears to have honest period wear. Excellent bore with strong rifling. Action operates properly and grips are very fine with initials (WLC) lightly scratched on bottom. (B) Remington Model 1858 Army with 8" octagon barrel caliber .44 percussion. CONDITION: Revolver is void of finish and is well worn. Right grip is chipped at heel and the bottom of both grips have been modified for lanyard use. This was commonly done in the later part of the Civil war and frequently found on gun in the west. The cylinder retainer has had the "Batwing" broken off. Bore is good with strong rifling and light pitting in grooves. Several screws are modern replacements. Action operates properly. TDW
