L.C. Smith external hammer drilling with side by side shotgun barrels over rifled barrel, made in Syracuse, New York by L.C. Smith from 1880 to 1884. 30" Damascus Steel shotgun barrels with matted rib and barrels marked "L.C. SMITH MAKER OF BAKER GUN SYRACUSE N.Y. DAMASCUS STEEL". Blade front sight and rear tang flip sight. Barrels are 10 gauge with .44 caliber rifle barrel, fit with extractors. Barrels are opened by pushing front trigger forward with rifle selector switch in front of front trigger. Engraved case hardened external hammer action with light floral engraving, double triggers, steel trigger guard. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock, standard comb, and steel buttplate. Matching checkered splinter forearm with pinned escutcheon. CONDITION: 90% original Damascus pattern with some edgewear and freckling. Action has traces of original finish. Wood has traces of original varnish with period brass pin repair. Pitted bores with good mechanics and tight lockup. DLM
