Rare Marlin Model 1889 made by the Marlin Firearms Company in New Haven, Connecticut in 1889. 1 of 3729 made with full octagon blued 26" barrel with Beech front sight and replacement Marbles adjustable rear sight, chambered in "32W" (32-20) and marked on top flat "MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A./PATENTED OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL. 2. 1889". Case hardened receiver marked on top with "MARLIN SAFETY" with plain trigger, solid frame, and full blued tubular magazine. Plain walnut stock with crescent steel buttplate and matching plain forearm. CONDITION: Metal fading to a silvery patina with light surface speckling. Wood has lightly been cleaned with usage marks and dings. Dark pitted bore with visible rifling and good mechanics. DLM
