Manufactured 1870-1880's. All the Merwins features the quick takedown interchangeable barrel system. This example features the longest of the available barrels, raised rib, five shot, fluted cylinder, solid hammer, standard trigger and trigger guard, bird's head grip, factory nickel plate and hard rubber grips. All matching numbers on frame, barrel and cylinder. CONDITION: Generous amounts of case colors on hammer and trigger guard. 80-85% original factory nickel with scattered age freckling. Razor sharp legend on barrel. Average scattered age freckling, still a very handsome example with lots of condition. Bore is good with some roughness. Action indexes like new. Fairly scarce variation.
