Features five shot and bird's head gutta percha grip. This is one of the interchangeable barrel system revolvers produced by Merwin in the 1870-80's. This is a very early example with the scoop flute cylinder. CONDITION: Barrel and cylinder retain 85% original factory nickel. Frame has age spotting on left side and some cleaning marks on right side. Cylinder shows no signs of burn. Grips have worn semi-smooth. A couple of screws are marred. Indexes and locks up like new. Strong rifled bore with some light abrasion.
