Made as a pair with long Damascus twist turnoff barrels. German silver boxlocks with "2492" serial numbers on both guns, further indicating manufacture as a pair, and Belgian ELG proof, with sides of actions engraved in floral scroll. Bag grips with a scalloped buttcap decorated with a silver lion grotesque capbox. In a black leatherette case with a ochre lining, containing a turnscrew, bag flask, lead balls, and small jar with percussion caps. CONDITION: Barrels with crisp twist, with some light peppering and silvering to sharp edges. Barrel on gun (A) was screwed on incorrectly at some point and will not twist off, other twists easily. Boxlock actions are good, polished, with engraving slightly softened as a result. Grips good with some crazing to finish and minor handling marks, pistol (A) with a very minor crack on left sidepanel. Mechanically fine, excepting barrel (A) aforementioned, bores are good. Accessories are fine, case has some minor chipping and marks from age. Formerly part of the Allan Klein Collection.
