One of the strongest challengers to the Colt Single Action Army in the 1880's was the 1875 Remington. This standard 7-1/2" barrel gun is chambered for the .44 Remington. Revolver sports period aged real ivory grips and the early butt swivel ring. CONDITION: The entire gun has been refinished in a dull matte blue with mostly visible barrel markings. Bore is defined but dull with some minor residue. Indexes and locks up. Great restoration candidate. CORRECTION: After further examination, it has been discovered that the base of grip frame has been and cracked and brazed, the .44-40 cylinder is a modern replacement, the bore has two minor period bulges, and the grips are a modern composite material.
