Remington New Model Army with 8" octagon barrel in standard .44 caliber. 2-piece walnut grips with lightly visible "GP" cartouche on left grip panel for principal sub-inspector Giles Porter. Grips bear factory matching "4111" in pencil on inside of both grips. Martial sub-inspector marked on major parts. CONDITION: Good with no blue left and overall smooth grey finish. Only very slight pitting noted on cylinder sides and frame forward of cylinder from period firing. Barrel address is thinned but visible. Grips are very good and fit properly with no cracks and some sight handling dings. Mechanically fine. Bore is lightly frosted with rifling visible but needs cleaned. BRM.
