This is a James Reid five shot manufactured 1870 to 1882. All metal construction, nickel plated brass frame and factory engraved. Standard model made without safety device. Approximately 2,900 were manufactured. CONDITION: Steel cylinder has no plating remaining. Frame retains approximately 85% original factory nickel. Fine working order. Referred to as a knuckleduster because they can be flipped and used as a pair of brass knuckles. It was a formidable and practical pocket pistol for the era.
