Total production of the model 1836 carbine was around 2,020 at Harper's Ferry. Dated 1839 on the breech block. This gun does not have an implement compartment in the bottom of the stock. CONDITION: Retains 85% brown lacquer finish. Breech block has some blue remaining. Markings are clear. Wood has dings and handling marks. There is a crack in the hammer spur. Bore is very good with some light pitting. Fine mechanical function. GR
