Carbine configuration, made without a saddle ring. There is a hole in the bottom of the barrel band for a sling swivel, and another sling swivel would have been mounted in the rear screw hole in the lower tang which currently has a period proper wood screw in it. Spring retained take down lever. Matching numbers on the tang and inside of the patchbox door. Upper tang is factory drilled for a post style rear sight. Standard Sharps rear barrel sight. .44 caliber with heavy rifling. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina, having been lightly cleaned at one time with light pitting. All markings are clear. Hammer appears to have been heated at one time. Wood shows wear with dings and handling marks. Brass has a mellow patina. Bore has strong rifling with light pitting. Fine mechanical function. GR
