Second model Winchester 1873 rifle with screwed on dust cover rail. Standard King's Improvement barrel marking. Not caliber marked. 24 - 3/8" octagon barrel. Standard rifle butt with trap. Lyman front sight. There is something very lightly scratched into the bottom of the brass cartridge lifter, unsure as to what it says. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina overall with some original blue around the sideplates of the receiver and in protected areas. All markings are clear. Magazine tube and ferrule may be replacements. There are two holes in the upper tang for a tang sight. Wood has dings and handling marks, as well as a screw repair to the butt, which uses the original piece of wood. Bore is good with strong rifling and pitting. Fine mechanical function. GR
