Made for use in the American Civil War, this gun is dated 1864 on the barrel flat. Percussion lock marked "US SPRINGFIELD" and dated 1864 at the rear. VP over eagle proof at breech of rifled barrel with adjustable flip rear sight and blade front. Walnut wood stock with iron furniture and original steel ramrod. "US" marked buttplate. CONDITION: Gun has in white original finish with traces of case finish on lock. Oil soaked stock with light handling marks. Bore is excellent and very shootable with good mechanics. DLM

CORRECTION: Forend has been cut and repaired from the center band forward. Repair is hardly noticeable.
