Full octagon barrel with full magazine. Comes with a standard two line barrel address of "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CT / KINGS IMPROVEMENT PATENT MARCH 29, 1866 AND OCTOBER 16, 1860". Rifle comes equipped with "XXX" wood and assembly number "713" located on the lower tang and on the toe of buttplate and also on upper channel of stock. Tang sight is of an adjustable veneer type. Engraved with one deer in a circle on left side. Bounce with large foliates to complete the engraving on left side, with no animal scenes on the right side of receiver, just foliate style engraving. A nitre blue loading gate. Case colored hammer and case colored lever with a brass carrier lifter with engraving and buttplate which is case colored and engraved on the top flange. Oval thumbprint dust cover is blued and retains some engraving. Checkering on stock is early style with 24 lines to the inch of checkering. Comes with sling swivels on bottom on stock and bottom of forearm cap. All options on rifle are verified by factory white sheet. A lot of engraving for only $2.50. Very fine as partially restored octagon barrels retains 96-97% restored blue with magazine tube retains 93-95% restored blue with a few light scratches and dings. Forearm cap retains 60-70% case color where as the receiver on the left and right sides retains 65-75% bright case colors with balance being light color but quite evident that it is present. Hammer is 93-94% case colored with a drag line on left side. Lever retains 50-60% case color with bottom of lever turning medium to dark patina. Left side of stock shows some impressions and surface scratches mostly to the rear of stock. Checkering with a few bruises but nothing major. No chips or splinters of wood missing. No chips missing on the right side but a hair line crack has developed to the rear portion of the upper tang on the right side going down into the checkering. Light compressions and a few scratches, some getting deep and surface scratches are obvious on the right side of the stock. Forearm is with light compressions and surface scratches as well with no chips missing and no cracks evident. Few bruises in checkering but nothing major. Brass carrier lifter is engraved with a small amount of engraving but no caliber marking is evident. Also no caliber marking on top flat of barrel as 1876 only offered one caliber in the early stages (.45-75). Bore is very fine with strong rifling. Cycles properly. Mechanics are fine.
