Beautifully made engraved handmade locked percussion rifle with full octagon unsigned rifled barrel with rifle sights. Full curly maple stock with violin finish, 15 coin silver inlays and an engraved brass lock plate in the shape of a shield and eagle. Brass engraved furniture including a double shield patchbox with 6 piercings and profusely engraved. Brass toeplate, saddleplate and comb piece also nicely engraved. Checkered wrist carving similar to guns made in New York state. A very fine rifle. CONDITION: Overall aged patina with carving worn from use and hole in wrist most likely for some kind of target sight. Gun appears to have no restoration and functions fine. DLM
