2nd Allin Conversion of a Civil War Springfield rifle with a lockplate date of 1863. Breech block dated 1866 over an eagle. Three band forearm with steel U.S. marked buttplate. Blade front sight and flip up rear sight. Original steel ramrod. Wood stock with illegible cartouches. Approximately 25,000 altered. CONDITION: Barrel retains a plum-brown finish with a shootable bore. Lock has 70% blue with majority turning plum. Wood shows heavy usage with some dings and deep scratches. Mechanically sound and functions fine. Missing rear sling swivel bow.
