Breech stamped with sunken "P" cartouche over an eagle head and "V". , tang stamped 1830. The flat lockplate has a convex tail section, center stamped with an eagle over "US", tail stamped "SPRING/FIELD/1830". Lock also marked with numerous inspection marks. Standard Model 1816 iron furniture, buttplate tang dated 1830. Most other components also stamped with inspector markings. Plain walnut stock. Complete with nickel-plated triangular socket bayonet stamped "US/TA". CONDITION: Very good overall, iron components cleaned bright. Lock appears to be in its original flintlock configuration. Stock shows minor storage marks and bruises. Partially visible inspectors stamp behind sideplate. DMG
