Of standard configuration throughout. Barrel shows deeply struck "P" over "US" at breech. Lock with "S. North, Middn Conn" and dated 1822. Push-on half-cock safety. CONDITION: In clean condition with fairly sharp markings. Walnut stock is heavily worn, with only traces of cartouche. A 2-1/2" strip of new wood is on the extreme right side toward stirrup rammer. Some splits and damage around lock mortise. The vestiges of cartouche remain. Top jaw has been replaced. Action is crisp. Bore is fair. A representative specimen of this model.
