Standard two stage rifled barrel with deeply stamped "US" cartouche and liberty head over "P" cartouche on left side of breech. Fitted underneath with steel rib. Flat lockplate. Has been converted to percussion. Standard Model 1803 brass furniture and patchbox. CONDITION: Good. Barrel and lock retains a dark patina with some light areas of scattered corrosion. Lock markings appear to have been intentionally removed during period of use. Brass furniture is unpolished and retains a dark patina. Walnut stock has a few scattered marks from use and minor scratches. A nice and honest 1803 rifle.
