Side by side double of extreme high quality built by W&C Scott 10 G Castle Street, Regent Circus, London circa the 1880s. Fine Damascus steel barrels with matted rib and bead front sight. Rib marked with W&C Scott address and "THE PREMIER". Gun has extractors, double triggers, and non-automatic safety. Hammerless case hardened sidelock action with crystal cocking indicator and finely engraved with bird and vignette full coverage engraving. Fine walnut round knob checkered pistol grip stock with added White Line vented rubber recoil pad and gold shield on tang marked "W.P. Simpson". Walnut full coverage checkered splinter forearm with push button release. CONDITION: 50% fading Damascus pattern with small area of surface pitting from a band or rack. Action fading to a silvery patina with some surface discoloration. Wood has dark aged patina with usage marks and dings and some mildew discoloration and handling wear. Good bores with good mechanics. A gun still in usable condition and of a high grade. DLM
