Lot consists of: (A) Italian Vetterli-Carcano 1870/87/15 bolt action rifle. Made by Brescia in 1882 before being updated to fire the 6.5 Carcano cartridge, around World War I. Typical Italian proofs on the barrel. Standard blued finish has worn to a nice patina in most areas. Stock and barrel are matching, no other parts are numbered, which is typical. No import mark. Original blade front and tangent rear. Stock has a small arsenal repair on the right side of the magazine well. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with light wear and handling marks. Stock is very good with a few minor dings and scratches. Frosted bore with fair rifling. Mechanically operable. (B) Steyr/Budapest M95/31 bolt action carbine. Made as an M95 long rifle at the Budapest arsenal in Austria Hungary. This carbine was later cut down to a M95/31 carbine in the 1930's. This is noted by the large "H" on the barrel. Sight was also updated at this time. This rifle is missing its sight slider. Typical proofs on the right side of the barrel and receiver. Rifle is completely mismatched. No import mark. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with minor wear and handling marks. Stock is good with minor dings, scratches and gouges. Bore is frosted with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. (C) Carcano M91/24 TS bolt action carbine. Made in 1918 at the Roma arsenal as a standard 1891 Carcano rifle. Converted to a M91/24 TS carbine at the Terni Arsenal in the mid 1920s. Standard blued finish with 1891 style rear sight and fixed front blade. Stock is matching to the rifle with a faint arsenal mark. Bolt is numbered to the rifle, but does not match the the rest of the rifle. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with mild wear and handling marks. Stock has been lightly sanded at some point, and is in very good condition. Hand guard has two cracks, one in front of the rear sight, one behind the front band. Light frosting in the bore with fair rifling. Mechanically fine. (D) Italian M91 TS bolt action carbine. Made 1918 at Brescia arsenal. Typical Italian proofs on the barrel shank, receiver and bolt. Marked "Made In Italy" on the top of the receiver. The sling swivel under the front band is missing, in addition to a large gouge and crack directly behind the front band. Barrel and stock are matching. No other parts are numbered. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with light wear and handling marks. Stock is fair with wear, dings, scratches and the previously mentioned damage. Bore is badly pitted with fair rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
